Cider Mill Extravaganza

It is officially fall now, so we decided to take the kids to a cider mill for some apples, cider and donuts(of course). This year we found a new cider mill which had a lot of activities for the kids, Westview Orchards.

We spent a few hours there playing on all of the structures, in the sand box, at the petting zoo and lest we not forget the "Straw Mountain" or "Dirt Tunnels".

David' 35th - Party

Well today was the day of the "Big" Party. Edith, Natania and Jeff came over for dinner and cupcakes. Dilcia was nice enough to cook one of my new favorite Mexican dishes Chilaquiles, which I had for the first time on our most recent trip to Mexico and now I cannot get enough of them.
Above is a picture of the cupcake Birthday cake Miriam and Isaac made for me. It was Isaac's idea to create a double-decker cupcake especially for me!

Miriam took a video of the candle ceremony and some flattering pictures of me throughout the day....evidenced by the two pictures below the video.... usually I do not share these ones, but I figured this was a special occasion....

Miriam said this move reminded her of Ricky.....
Earlier in the day we went to Rochester Village for lunch and to play in the park.

Fall Farm Fair in Novi

Saturday was a beautiful day and we had heard from Anita that there was a fall fair on a farm (say that 3 times fast!!)in Novi. We packed up the kids and drove to the farm. When we arrived Olivia was asleep. She woke up as we put her in her stroller and the first thing she saw was a big brown cow....she said "Moooooo..." Lately, she has been saying a lot of words with "o" in them, No, Boo, Moo, and Momo(which means Cosmo). Her favorite word these days is "Baby" though.

There was a ton of stuff to do for the kids; fishing, crafts, line dancing, a banjo player, a crocodile show, pumpkin decorating, a maze, a children's garden and fake-cow milking (which in my opinion is better than real cow milking).

They also had parked a police car, ambulance and fire truck for the kids to climb into and play around. This was a big hit!! After climbing in the cars, we took a break had lunch and picked our own apples from the children's orchard for a snack.

Here is a really short video

We took quite a few pictures...

David' 35th - Chuck E. Cheese's

To celebrate my 35th we all went to Chuck E. Cheese's for dinner. I am not sure who was more excited me, Isaac or Lita.

As soon as we got in we were all a bit overwhelmed by the noises and flashing lights...kind of like a kiddie casino. Isaac and I headed to the air hockey table where he beat me 7 to 5. While the girls headed to the infant area so Olivia could climb around.

Then we played some games of chance, like Skee ball, basketball and other games where you could win some tickets to trade for prizes later.

After a few games it was time for a few slices of pizza, then back to the games. We took a break to meet Chuck E. Cheese and watch some tv shows and then more games.

Olivia really enjoyed riding some little rides and Isaac's favorite game was the Arctic Racer. He was able to drive a snowmobile, the best part was when the seat vibrated and the machine blew air at him to simulate the wind.

After all of the games we had won 66 tickets, which was worth more than all of my financial sector holdings. With these 66 tickets we were able to obtain; a small Frisbee for Olivia, a sticky blue frog and a pirate eye patch for Isaac. The eye patch was perfect since it is International Talk like a Pirate Day today too.

"Argh matey!!"

Below is a short video compilation of our evening.

David's 35th - Present & Cupcakes

When I got home from work today Isaac, Olivia and Miriam gave me my present. Isaac was very excited to show me the present, the cupcakes they had made and the card he had signed. He even drew a picture of himself holding my present on the back of the card.
Below is a video of the kids making cupcakes with Miriam and Lita and then me opening my gift.

Isaac goes to the Dentist for the 1st time

On Wednesday Isaac went to the dentist with Miriam and Olivia. Everything went better than could be expected. Isaac had a great time and was really very interested in everything. He got to play with Mr. Thirsty and learned all about the Dentist's tools. On the way out he got, a toy, a balloon, a new toothbrush(Olivia too!) and most importantly a good report on his teeth.

Miriam took a few pictures and some video. The video is below and can also be seen at the link with a few more pictures.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day Weekend...the weather was great and we spent a lot of time outside with the kids.

Saturday we headed to Pontiac to the Arts Beats & Eats Festival. There was a carnival for the kids so we went on a few rides, and then headed to the small petting zoo (see the video.) While we were all in there two of the ponies had a disagreement. One pony bit the other and then the one that got bit, decided to bite Miriam (she is fine). After that, we decided it was enough of the animals and we headed to the "Arts and Scraps" area. Here the kids made things out of reusable materials. They both really enjoyed this and Isaac learned about reusing things instead of throwing them out!! On the way out there was a maze made out of some of the material as well. Olivia loved this!!!

Sunday, we woke up early had breakfast and headed to Home Depot to get a pot for the yard....then the kids took a nice nap after lunch to get ready for the pizza party in the park with some friends in Birmingham.
On Monday, Edith invited us over to go swimming and have lunch with Natania and Jeff.
See some more pictures from the weekend here.
