Edinborough Indoor Play Structure

Miriam and the kids discovered a great place for playing inside (which I imagine will come in very handy in a few months!). It is called Edinborough Park. They took me to check it out over the wknd. It is by far the biggest play structure I have ever seen at 37 feet high!

We had a great time...check out the pictures and video.

There is also a short video of the kids playing in the basement with our new neighbors.

Fishing, a Crane, a Peanut Butter Sandwich and Lake Ann

The other day Isaac and Olivia decided they would make mommy lunch....they made her a PB&J with some fruit.See the kids making a Peanut Butter Sandwich for Miriam and the Super long fantastic happy slide at Starring Lake Park.

On Saturday night we took the kids furniture shopping...they were thrilled. So, after dinner we decided to treat them to ice cream. We noticed some stairs leading to a park across the street and decided to go in and eat our ice cream there. The park opened up to a lake with people fishing and boating on paddle boats. We sat down and started eating our ice cream and began watching a father and his two boys fishing with toy fishing rods. None of us expected that they would actually catch anything...well after less than a minute the boy had caught a fish. The father was taking the fish off the hook and a huge crane began flying right towards us and landed on the dock about 4 feet away. It took us awhile to make the connection that the crane wanted the fish. Eventually the father threw the fish to the crane, he caught it and swallowed it whole!!!

Well, then all of the kids starting catching fish one after another and feeding them to the crane. He must of ate 5 fish. Both Olivia and Isaac caught a fish and through it to the crane!

Below is a picture of the crane waiting for some fish...you can see how close it was. Unfortunately, I did not have our camera so could not get any great pictures or a video, but did catch a few pictures on my phone.

The kids catch a fish and the crane eats the fish.

Sunday we took the kids to the beach at Lake Ann Park, a few minutes from the house. More fish! Isaac tried really hard to catch some with his net, but we had no luck. We played for a few hours in the water, on the beach and on the dock....

Minnesota Childrens' Museum and other fun stuff!

Sunday we took the kids to the Minnesota Children's Museum in St. Paul. They were having a Wizard of Oz exhibit which was a lot of fun for the kids (See the video). The museum was pretty big and we only saw a few exhibits so we will have to go back soon.

This was the first time any of us had been to St. Paul. So after the museum we walked around a bit and found Mickey's Dining Car. The kids really liked it because they had been in a very similar dining car in the Henry Ford Museum back in Michigan. However in this one, you actually could eat.....unfortunately the burgers were not 25 cents anymore.
  • Mickey’s Dining car has been operating 24 hours a day 365 days a year for over 70 years

  • Spanning three generations the diner has remained family owned and operated.

Later that afternoon we went to the Eden Prairie Center and found a play area....Isaac made a new friend Adam...it turns out his family is from NY and they actually live in St. Paul.

After a great day we came home for dinner. While Miriam and Olivia were slicing up the cucumbers one of the slices was smiling back at them.....I thought about trying to sell it on eBay...but Olivia took a bite!

Isaac's Kung Fu Class

Isaac started taking Kung Fu lessons on Thursday nights. Tonight was his second class(unfortunately I missed last week - I was at a Twins Game for work). He really enjoys it and is very focused.
His teacher, Mr. Lam is really good with the kids and he is pretty funny too. Isaac really likes him.

You can see a few more pictures and a video of his class here.

4th of July Weekend

Another eventful weekend!!

Friday afternoon we spent getting to know a few of our neighbors who live behind us. Isaac really enjoyed jumping on the trampoline!

Saturday afternoon we headed downtown to have dinner and walk around a bit. We tried to get up in the skyways but they were closed for the holidays....which was a bit disappointing for the kids, but I am sure we will spend plenty of time in them during the winter.

On the 4th, we went to Chanhassen for the carnival, rode some rides and played some games of chance, then went home took a nap followed by a walk around the neighborhood with the kids on their bikes.

Around 9PM we headed to Round Lake in Eden Prairie for the fireworks.

Nope, that is not food on Olivia's face....she took a pretty good slide on the sidewalk Thursday night on the way to Isaac's Kung Fu class. She is fine though...don't panic Grandma!

Check out a few more pictures and a video.
