Trip to Florida (Ft. Meyers and Key West)
It was too cold to stay in Minnesota all winter so we headed down to Ft. Meyers to visit Ricky and Hillary.
They watched the kids while Miriam and I took a boat cruise to Key West for a few days. While on Key West we checked out the Hemingway House, the Shipwreck Museum quite a few bars and restaurants, did some SCUBA diving....see a picture of me in my wet suit below.
While diving, I saw some barracuda, a shark, a lobster and a stingray...it was great! On the cruise home we got to watch the sunset from the top deck which was incredible!
Grandma Hillary arranged for an Airboats and Alligator Tour. That was much better than I had expected. We saw about 10 Alligators up close and lots of birds!
Uncle Billy came into town for dinner...
We took a drive out to Sanibel Island and did some shelling!
and of course we hung out at the pool.
Then we had to head home.
Grandma Hillary and Grandpa Ricky made sure we had a great time and the weather was great all week long!!
See some more pictures and a few short videos here.

Polar Cubs 2014 - BRrrrrrr
Well, unlike last year at Polar Cubs where it snowed 12" and was about 28-30 degrees above zero, this year it was cold! Very cold, about -8 before wind chill! Luckily it was not too windy and the sun was out...so we got up early bundled up and made the best of it.
Activities for the kids (and adults!) included; tubing, broomball (hockey on the ice with no skates and brooms instead of sticks = groin injury for anyone over 12), snowball (basically football, soccer and absolute chaos combined = backaches for anyone over 12), mushroom tag (too hard to explain), arts and crafts and somewhat "hot" chocolate by the fire. All in all a lot of fun, but a cold and tired day which made for an early night!
