Olivia's 7th Birthday Party at Mall of America

For Olivia's "Friend" Birthday party we went to MOA (Mall of America). Olivia invited her friends, Max, Avery and Hanna.  Isaac invited Darian.  Miriam invited me....
Miriam asked the kids to take a top secret pledge before we headed out to ride rides.
We rode a lot of rides!  The little bumper cars(seen above) and the big bumper (Seen below - Max and Hanna)), a few roller coasters, the pirate ship, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Flying Turtles and many more!

We took a break from the rides to open presents, have lunch (pizza and pasta) and cake!

After lunch we rode a few more rides (see the video of the log flume!).

See some more pictures and a video here.

Happy Birthday Olivia!!

Memorial Day Weekend

On Saturday the kids go up early and started to prepare for their lemonade stand.  They hand-painted a sign shaped like a lemon, made 2 vats of lemonade and started heading over to the corner behind our house.

At first things were slow and the kids started to get discouraged but soon word got out and they were getting plenty of business.  At times the wait was 3 cars deep!   All in all they had a lot of fun and made some extra spending money....

Cub Scout Picnic and Baseball

So we had a beautiful day for the Cub Scout Picnic this year.   The boys had a lot of fun events, races, tug-o-war, etc...and then they looped in the parents for the wheelbarrow race.  Unfortunately, my back was not cooperating so Miriam was lucky enough to participate(see the video)!

The boys also got a ride on an old fire truck.

Saturday Isaac had a baseball game...he got to play catcher.

See some more pictures and a video here.  On the video is the wheelbarrow race and Isaac doing some flips on the trampoline.

Mother's Day 2014

This Sunday was Mother's Day...  At temple Isaac and his class put on a play completely in Hebrew, which was pretty impressive!

Then we took Miriam to Bachmann's for brunch and some shopping.

A few things from the first half of May

So it is May and that means we have a lot going on....starting with Cinco de Mayo of course.  This year we celebrated on Quatro de Mayo.  We had some friends over, had tamales and a pinata!

See some more Cinco/Quatro de Mayo pictures here....

Then Isaac had his 1st Baseball game of the season.  They won by 1, so they are still undefeated!  This is the first year where the kids pitch, they keep score and it is starting to get competitive.  He had a walk but got out in a "pickle" play between 2nd and 3rd base.

See a few more pictures from warm ups and the game here

Olivia had her Spring Fling Dance at school this week.  They dressed up as old people and sang a traditional Mexican song....it was pretty funny!

Isaac & Olivia's First Piano Recital

Isaac and Olivia have been taking piano lessons for a few months now. They are both really enjoying it and worked really hard for weeks preparing their pieces for their performance.  They were able to play on stage with a Grand Piano!  Michelle, Grant, Leah and Leah's Grandma came to watch the performance....then we went to lunch to celebrate.

The final practice at home....

 Warming up on stage.

After the performance with their teacher Mrs. Cindy.

Here are some more pictures and videos of their performances.
