Summer Trip - Lansing-Detroit-Kalahari

So, this year for our Summer Road trip we went to Lansing, Detroit and Kalahari.  A trip to Michigan would not be complete without a visit to Big Boy, so that was our first stop!

Once in Lansing, we visited friends and attended a Quinceañera! While we were there we stayed on campus at MSU and Miriam showed us her old stomping grounds!

We also made our annual stop at St. Joe's on Lake Michigan.

While in the Wisconsin Dells we stayed at Kalahari, Pet and fed a baby Tiger!

Anniversary Weekend

It was quite an Anniversary we had this year!   We definitely needed a bit of an escape, to get away from all of the crazy construction projects going on at the house to repair the hail damage from last August!!!

Miriam and the kids came home Saturday with a surprise (See above....just a rental).  It was a lot of fun for the weekend and the weather was perfect!   Miriam and I cruised over to St. Paul for dinner, we found a highly recommended Deli, Cecil's, and had some great sandwiches and then walked around downtown.

On Sunday we took the kids to Valley Fair.   We had a great time.  The kids are old(big) enough to ride most of the rides now so it was a much different experience!  The could even go together on the rides mom and dad did not want to go on....because they make us sick :).

Camp Teko

The kids went to Camp Teko again this year.  Olivia and Isaac both went to day camp the first 2 weeks and then Isaac stayed overnight the WHOLE 3rd week.  His first extended stay away from home!!

They both loved it!  There are some pictures taken by the camp as well as when we dropped Isaac off and when we picked them both up on Friday for the Picnic and Sabbath Services.

Olivia's Weekend with Mom and Dad

Well, if you were wondering what we did while Isaac was at summer camp.....don't worry we kept busy!

We took Olivia and her friend Leah to Minnehaha Falls and rode a Surrey, then we went to Hudson, WI and explored.  We even rented a canoe and stopped at a cheese factory.....we were in Wisconsin after all!
