Lita's Treat - Elmo's Green Thumb

For Isaac's Birthday, Lita bought the whole family tickets to go to the
Sesame Street Live presentation of Elmo's Green Thumb at the Detroit Fox Theatre. When we arrived the kids were impressed by the incredible architecture of the theatre as well as all of the Sesame Street paraphernalia.

The show was great and the kids really got a kick out of it. Olivia was bouncing and clapping along to the songs. Isaac was mesmerized by the story and the cool special effects. He really liked the disco ball and the confetti at the end. During intermission we picked up some health snacks; cotton candy, gummy worms and popcorn.
For those of you taking notes, the letter of the day was F and the number of the day was 6...
After the show we were all starving so we ate at Hockey Town right across the street. the kids were interested in the motorcycles they had on display and all of the hockey and baseball stuff they had on the walls. During lunch we even got to watch the Red Wings play the Penguins....which made it hard for Isaac to stay focused on his food. I seemed to do alright multitasking.

Isaac's 5th Birthday Party

Today was Isaac's 5th Birthday. He decided he wanted to have his "friend" party at Inflatable Play Spaces Indoors. He invited all of his friends (Olivia, Noah, Carson, Adam O. and his big bother and lister sister, Jacob, Annabeth, Aleks, Daniel, Cayden, Carrington, Joseph, Julia, Mariah, Destiny, Joseph, Tony & Gus) and of course all of their parents.

Since Isaac has been very interested in Star Wars lately, he decided he wanted the party to have a Star Wars theme. So we played the soundtrack to Star Wars in the bounce area, had a special Stars Wars Lego Video Game cake made (see below), decorated the party room with Star Wars table clothes, napkins and plates, and of course gave the kids all Star Wars action figures as party favors.

The kids had a great time bouncing around in the indoor play space. I think the big hit for the kids was the maze. The good news was there were no major injuries, even for the adults....surprisingly.

The boxing gloves, football toss and basketball hoop were the favorite for the bigger kids (adults).
After an hour and a half of bouncing, everyone had worked up a pretty good appetite. When the kids entered the party room, it was all set up with balloons, water and veggie trays for the kids to snack on while they waited for the pizza to be served. The parents joked around about how long it would take the kids to start eating the vegetables when they knew there was cake and pizza coming. It took a few minutes until, finally Julia grabbed some vegetables and then some of the other kids began to snack too.
Everyone enjoyed the pizza and cake, opened their party favors and it was time to go.
Before the party, Isaac decided he would like to invite his friend Noah over to help him open his gifts. We also, invited Suzy, Juan and Joseph over to hang out since they made the drive in all the way from Lansing.

Needless, to say Isaac got a lot of great gifts which we are all thankful for!

Isaac's 5th Birthday Dinner at Lita's

Friday after Kalahari we headed straight back to Lita’s house for Isaac’s Birthday dinner. Jeff and Natania met us there too.

The party started with a Sushi appetizer, a special request from the Birthday boy.
Then we decided to open some presents. This kicked off the "Star Wars Saga” weekend , which and led into tomorrow’s party (stay tuned for that entry…coming soon). Isaac loved all his gifts; he got several Star Wars action figures from Lita, a Clone Trooper blaster gun from Stacey, Josh and Gabriel and a new Clone Trooper lunchbox from Grandpa and Grandma. In addition, he received some non-Star Wars toys which included a very cool Robot T-shirt from Natania and Jeff, a new sled from Grandpa and Grandma and some Toy Story action figures from Lita. Thanks to everyone!!!
If you watch the video you will see how excited he was….the reaction to the T-Shirt is especially amusing!

After presents we continued dinner and then of course there was cake!

After cake, the kids played quite a bit. Isaac was using his new sled as a space ship and blasting everything in site!

Kalahari

Miriam and I took the kids to Kalahari for a few days this week. For those of you who do not know, and I imagine that is most, Kalahari is the country's largest indoor water park! Needless to say we all had a great time. The kids loved the wave pool and the "Kid's Safari" section. The Kid's Safari section had a lot of small water slides they could both go down as well as some climbing structures and animals spouting water from random places.
We also spent some time in the indoor play structure (which has a crazy pneumatic volcano), the arcade(playing "games of chance" for tickets) and miniature golf.
On Thursday, Isaac woke up and was very excited because he decided to try the big slides (the biggest ones he was allowed to go on since he was 1 inch too short to try some of the really big ones). The first thing we did, was head straight to the "Leopard's Lair" which housed 2 slides and sure enough he went down them and loved it! Of course, then he wanted to try some of the slides he was not allowed to go on....next year.

We even had fun in the room...pillow surfing.
Check out some more pictures and a video of our trip here.

Lightsaber Duel, Tyrannosaurus Rex 3D puzzle and other random pictures.

It has been a few weeks since I posted some pictures, so I uploaded some random ones of the kids around the house....

Olivia working...Isaac and his 3D Tyrannosaurus Rex puzzle. Aunt Natania gave this to him for Christmas and he and i worked on it over the weekend.
Olivia eating her "white raisins"....these are the ones covered in Yogurt...her new favorite, she used to like "green" raisins, and then before that the "red " raisins which were actually craisains. Personally,I like the "brown" raisins....those are the ones covered in chocolate! We don't seem to ever have any of those in the house.
Here are a few more pictures of the kids making funny faces, relaxing in front of the TV and don't miss the video of the Light Saber Duel!

Olivia's 1st Day of Pre-School

Finally, after months of anticipation....Olivia's first day of pre-school. Olivia has been asking to go to school since Isaac started Pre-K back in Sept. At least once a week she has asked "Am I 2 and a half yet?"
She wanted to take her 3-D glasses with her....

As you can see, she was very determined to get there, with her brand new "rolly" bag and lunch box. Once we arrived, Isaac was extremely helpful, showing her what to do and where everything was in the pre-school room.

Here are a few more pictures and a video montage(of course!).

We just picked her up from school and she had a great time!
