Olivia's Dancing Doll

When Isaac and I got home Sunday, Isaac was still asleep from the ride home so I gave Olivia her present from Grandma Hillary. It was a Dancing Doll. Grandma Hillary had one when she was little too!

Making Rice Krispie Treats with Grandma

Friday morning Isaac and Grandma made Rice Krispie Treats (click for recipe).

Isaac really liked making them as you will see from the pictures and video but surprisingly did not like eating them....

The Great Escape

Isaac and I went to Albany for the weekend. Isaac stayed Friday and Saurday with Ricky and Hillary while I went to meet some friends. This was Isaac's first trip to Grandma's and Grandpa's house by himself.

Thursday when we arrived we were picked up at the airport and went to the Great Escape. Isaac was extremely excited when he found out where we were headed. When we got there, the first ride we went on was the Log Flume. Isaac was a little nervous but really liked it!

Then we headed to Storytown.

The Saloon

Later we hit Wiggles' World, Ghost Town, Looney Tunes National Park & Splashwater Kingdom.

We also saw the Pirates' Plunder (High Dive show).

Isaac rode a lot of rides he had not been on before. When asked if he wanted to ride some of them again he kept saying "I only want to try something new!"

Father's Day

Another great Father's Day!!!

We woke up today and watched Fraggle Rock and Mister Roger's Neighborhood with the kids. Then we opened presents. Isaac and Olivia both made me very cool cards and Isaac made me a special key chain in Pre-School.

Then we got dressed, packed some snacks and headed to the zoo.
At the zoo we saw the regular cast of characters....plus the DINOSAURS! The kids really enjoyed this. They got to walk through the Dino-Trail and see the animatronic Dinosaurs. Then dig for fossils and of course go to the Dino-Store and pick out some toys. Olivia chose Pinky and Isaac chose a bag of mini dinosaurs and a light-stick.
After a nap (Olivia and Dad)....we all headed to Lita's for dinner. Isaac stayed for a spontaneous sleep over.

Our Goldfish

Summer has officially begun at the Lubin household.

Isaac started soccer camp at the gym on Monday. It is 3 days a week this week and one week in July. Olivia started swim school as well which is several weeks long.

Next week Isaac will be joining Olivia at swim school, so today Olivia brought him a t-shirt and some goggles home so he would be all ready.

Day around the Town(s)

Saturday Miriam and I took the kids to Birmingham to go to lunch at Dick O' Dow's and then to the library.

Then we headed to Ferndale for a Hawaiian Dance Extravaganza. Finally we ended up meeting Gus, Tony, Christine and Cayden in Royal Oak for the Clay, Glass & Metal Art Fair and some dinner at Pronto. It was quite a busy day!

There is a short video of Isaac and Olivia dancing an Irish Jig at the Irish restaurant (lunch) followed by Isaac making his "Squirt a Shirt" at the Art Fair. I am still trying to figure out if a "Squirt a Shirt" is Clay, Glass or Metal??

Shadow Puppets

This morning; Miriam, Olivia and I were upstairs getting ready for the day. When Miriam asked where Isaac was neither of us knew and it was pretty quiet, so we were curious to find out what he was doing.


We found him in the family room. He had put a CD in the cd player and hewas sitting on the couch putting on a shadow puppet show for himself.

Pre School Picnic

Yesterday was Isaac's last day of Pre-School and today was the School Picnic. All of the Pre-school and Pre-K children and their families met at Jaycee park in Troy. All of Isaac's friends were there; Noah, Carson, Will, Pravad, Alecs, Daniel, Julia, Reese, Lizzy and many more....
The kids spent a lot of time on the structure climbing, swinging, sliding, running, jumping, tackling and some even rolling around in the sand. Isaac, Noah, Carson, will and some of the parents played baseball and then a lot of the kids took off chasing each other and butterflies. It was quite a site getting to see them all play together!

On the way out Isaac said good bye to all of his Pre-School teachers (Ms. Carmy, Ms. Janet, Ms. Julie, Ms. Kathleen and Ms. Katie) and even some of his Pre-K teachers he already knows. When he was saying good bye he made sure to tell Ms. Julie "I will still talk to you next year when I am in Pre-K!"

Star Wars Lego

Stacey, Josh and Gabriel gave me a gift certificate for Lego awhile back. I was waiting for the Star Wars X-Wing fighter to come out.

Isaac and I finally got it in the mail about a week ago. We have been working on it a little bit each night and we finally finished today. After we were done Isaac and I made a short impromptu movie. It is the second scene in the video. See it here along with a few more pictures.

Isaac's Pre-School Art Exhibit

Tonight was Issac's Art Exhibit at his school. We all met Lita there and prepared to be amazed by the kids' artwork. Isaac showed us all around. The whole class had made a rocket ship out of recyclable materials. There is a brief video of him explaining it with the additional pictures.
All of the picture were taken by Isaac except the one he is in below pointing to his piece.

Olivia takes a Bubble Bath

Tonight Olivia took a bubble bath. I think this may have been her first one, but I am not sure....
She really like it. Isaac took some pictures.

Lita's Birthday

Lita came over for her Birthday dinner tonight. We had burgers, cake and opened presents. Olivia wanted Lita to wear her Birthday jewelry (tiara, necklace and earrings).
