Weekend at the house & the "House Video Tour"

Saturday night Miriam and I went to dinner and IKEA where we managed to find the elusive round kitchen table. This of course led to me spending almost all morning Sunday putting it together. I will be fine if I never see another Allen wrench or cardboard box!

We did get some time this weekend to relax and enjoy the house and neighborhood, which was great!

Sunday, we finished unpacking, for the most part (we think...)! In the afternoon we headed over to one of our neighbors' house who I know from work. She has a son Isaac's age named Kenny. They seemed to get along well and played for a few hours. They can literally walk to each other's house which is great.

Well, it has been a busy week or so, with the driving, packing, moving, unpacking and getting back to work, so here are a few links to some of the backlog of pictures from the week.

Moving Out!!!!

Yesterday the packing and moving began.

First Amy showed up at 7AM to help us pack up the fish and get them all ready. Then the packers came and packed all of our toys, clothes, dishes, etc into boxes, later in the afternoon the craters came to build crates for all of the glass.

Today, we met the movers at the house bright and early to start loading the moving van.

Everything went very smoothly and we were done by about 4. Tomorrow me, Cosmo, the fish and the crab (AKA - the travelling circus) will drive out to Minneapolis.........Miriam, Edith and the kids will fly out on Saturday and we will meet the movers at the house on Monday.

Last Day of School at Somerset Academy

Tuesday was the last day of school at Somerset Academy for both Isaac and Olivia. The kids took some pictures with their teachers and friends.
After school a few of the friends all got together at the park.

Olivia got a train set for her birthday and the kids decided to combine them to make a "super train".

Later that day we went furniture shopping and the kids watched Wall-E while we perused....

Lita's 70th Birthday

Saturday we celebrated Lita's 70th Birthday, which was actually June 1st. Miriam invited over some of Lita's friends; Tula, Glenn, Mary, Lee, Damaris, Dillard, Dona Julia and Natania. Lulu even made a guest appearance for a little while.

Lita wanted all 70 candles which turned out to be more challenging than we had thought....by the time we had most of them lit, some of them started to burn out!

Side note: 10 years ago Miriam was in Michigan to celebrate Lita's 60th Birthday and I was in town for Tony and Christine's wedding. On Miriam's flight back from Michigan to New York City she sat next to yours truly and the rest is history.....(most of which has been catalogued on this blog).

Saying Goodbye to their Dr.

On Friday, Olivia had her 3 year old check up. This was the last time the kids were going to see their Pediatrician, Dr. Mitchel.
