Building a Fence, a Garden and a Porch....

A few weeks ago we started a few projects around the house. We decided to put up a fence in the front yard, a bench on the porch, a raised vegetable garden and then clean up, furnish and begin to use our screened in porch. The kids helped with all of the projects(at least for a littel while) and now after 3-4 weeks they seem to be done...for now.

Olivia's 1st Dance Recital - on her Birthday

Today was Olivia's Birthday. When she woke up (sort of) we gave her, her present. Later in the day she had her first dance recital. It was at Patrick's Cabaret in downtown Minneapolis. After the recital we went out for Mexican food and then to DQ for dessert.

Olivia did a great job! We are very proud of her!!

Olivia's 4th Birthday Party

Olivia had her birthday party today at the Eden Prairie Community Center. The kids decorated treasure boxes, were visited by a real Princess. Her name was Princess Leigh, but much to Miriam's chagrin she was not the one from Star Wars!.
They then played in the gym, had pizza and cupcakes and opened presents. It was a really nice party and the kids seemed to have a great time.

Isaac's 1st T-Ball Game

Isaac had his first T-Ball game tonight. Since he was wearing #1 he got to bat 1st. He led off with a nice single. After 3 more singles from his team mates he got to be the first to score, when Kenny batted him in!
In the first inning he played outfield and did not see too much action. In the second inning he played next to first base and was able to field a few ground balls and throw them to 1st. The third inning he played first base! He was trying so hard to catch the ball and on the last hit of the game he finally caught it!!(See the video...)
He had a great time, we are pretty sure his team won since they were actually able to make some plays and gets some outs.

Isaac's Spring Festival

After months of practicing, Isaac's spring Festival finally arrived. Isaac got dressed up in his blank pants, button down shirt and fancy shoes, and we all posed a few times in front of the Plum Tree, which is in bloom and looks incredible!

Before the dance the 5th graders played the bongo drums which was very exciting, then all of the different classes paraded in. Isaac's class was the 3rd group to go. He and his partner Sadie(below) did a great job! The dance was very exciting and we all had a great time watching.

Making Vivian's Birthday Present & Mother's Day

Last Night Miriam and I picked out Vivian's Birthday present. Today the kids and I put it together. (Don't let Vivian watch this until the present arrives in the mail...). We wish we could have made it to STL to give it to her in person!!
Then we spent the rest of the day with Lita and Mom for Mother's Day. Nothing too crazy because Miriam was still recovering from her appendectomy. We went downtown for Olivia's dance class, to Breugger's for lunch...then back to home to rest!

Isaac's First T-Ball Game

Isaac started T-ball today with his first practice. He is on the Yankees. Kenny, Corey, Ryan and Ben are on his team. So far he seems to love it!They practiced throwing, catching and fielding grounders. It was a great first practice. We can't wait until the next one!
