Trip to NYC

After spending some time in Albany with the family, Miriam the kids and I headed down to NYC!  

Here are a few of the things we did and saw over four days:

First stop China town....Olivia wanted to haggle for a fan and a purse.

 We hit Washington Square park in the rain

 Saw some Minions at Toys-R-Us

 Met up with Marc and Jason for dinner.

 Hung out in Times Square

 the American Girl Doll store, of course!

Took a break in Tiffany's and found a couch and some free refreshments in the penthouse.....we will have to remember that!  It made for a nice oasis in the urban dessert!

 Stopped at the Plaza to visit Madeleine.

 Took the kids to dinner at the Atlantic Grille (the site of our first date!)

 Ricky and Hillary met us for the day.   We visited the 9/11 memorial and WTC 1.

 Could not miss Katz's Deli!

 Rode the subway.....a lot.

 Showed off our recently purchased touristy NYC tee shirts

 Visited the Statue of Liberty, finally!!!!!

 Saw our friends Emma and Jimmy.

 Toured the Natural History Museum and the Hayden Planetarium

.....and for our finale, a trip to NYC would not be complete without, a trip to Joe's Shanghai for soup dumplings.

Trip to Albany - GG Pearl's 90th Birthday Extravaganza

We headed to Albany to celebrate GG Pearl's 90th Birthday with her, the family and her friends.  

While we were there we also got to see some of the local sites; the Empire State Plaza, the "Million Dollar Staircase", Ben & Jerry's, the Hudson River Barge, Bob and Ron's Fish Fry, Huck Finn's Playland and SkyZone.  It was a busy few days!  

It was great to see all (7) of the cousins together.  They all had so much fun hanging out, swimming and playing.

4th of July Weekend - Mini Golf and GD50!

Wow what a great long weekend!  The weather was amazing and we had a lot of fun things on the agenda.

On Friday we went to Big Stone Mini Golf and Sculpture Garden.  We kind of stumbled on this place.  It was really amazing.  The owner built each hole himself and he continues to build the course and outdoor sculptures.  There were also goats!

Friday night the whole family went to the theater and watched the simulcast of the first show at Soldier field celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead. The show was 5 hrs long....the kids almost stayed awake for the entire show.

Saturday afternoon we met the Graciar's at the parade in Chanhassen.  I think this is the 3rd year in a row!  It was a great parade, lots of bands and some cool old cars!

 We headed over to their house for burgers and Sparklers....

Then over to Round Lake for the big fireworks with Isaac's friend Alex, Olivia's friend Emily and their Mom and Dad.   We got there right on time and had "front row" seats on the beach!  Best spot so far.....

Sunday we took it easy and went to see Inside Out.....which has nothing to do with the picture below. We just cannot pass up a picture of a Minion, especially since Isaac had a Minion shirt on!
