Wow!! What a weekend. Isaac and I went to Summer Camp Friday through Monday. The first two nights we stayed in a cabin with 14 other scouts and dads. Then on Sunday we went on a 2 mile hike and camped in the prairie on the top of hill at the Webelos Outpost. We set up our own tents, the boys cooked dinner and we made S'mores and peach cobbler for dessert.
We had to watch out for ticks....we only found one on Isaac...that was on Tuesday!
Isaac got the chance to do a lot of different activities; Map and Compass skills, Archery, BB Guns, ride Ponies, Volleyball, Life Saving Techniques in the pool, canoeing, woodworking, geology, hiking, setting up and taking down a tent, preparing and cooking a meal, doing dishes at a campsite, running an obstacle course, swimming and tying knots. I may even be forgetting a few things.
Isaac earned a sharpshooter badge in Archery which he was very proud of. He tried really hard to earn an expert badge which was 2 yellows and 3 reds with only 5 arrows - very hard to do! He got really close and missed by less than an inch on his last arrow....but kept trying and did his best!
We saw some interesting wild life, a few salamanders, a few deer, a fox that actually ran through our campsite and we saw Sasquatch (AKA = Big Foot)!
Here we are on our way out of the Outpost. The Webelos Cub scouts, their parents and the 3 Boys Scouts who kept us safe (especially the parents).
See some more pictures from the weekend and a video or two here.
